 About Missy

Missy Kabinoff explored various yoga philosophies before becoming a certified yoga instructor through the Bhakti Center of Devotional Arts in 2015. The first Sanskrit mantra that Missy heard was Lokah Samastah Sukhino  Bhavantu- "May all beings everywhere be happy and free and may the thoughts, words and actions of my own life contribute to the happiness and freedom for all." Missy's love of animals culminated into teaching a yoga and nutrition elective for NYC public high school students where the teachings of Ahimsa and ethical eating were the core components of her curriculum.  Missy has worked with ACE (Association for Climate Education) as well as the Ethical Choices Program. Missy hopes to utilize the teachings of yoga to raise awareness for a more compassionate lifestyle and to deepen her students' practice with humility and tolerance.

"Through introspection comes the end of pain and ignorance.”

 My philosophy

Yoga is not just what we do on our mats. It is a philosophy and way of life!  Connecting our breath to our body makes for a moving meditation where we can all go deeper to connect to our own true nature. Pranayam and asana practice helps us to understand that we are not our thoughts and that our thoughts do not define us. Yoga allows us to discern what we allow into our lives and what type of energy we want to put out into this world.

Classes for all ages, levels and bodies!
